Winter Florals: Bella Mag Collab

Two weeks ago I did a quick street style shoot in the city for a fun feature with Bella Magazine coming in March.  I wasn't able to get all of the images, but I really wanted to share this outfit on the blog!

Floral Cardi: Forever21 (similar) / Shirt: Target (here)/ Jeans: Dittos (here) / Shoes: Aldo
Bag: Galian (here) c/o / Necklace: WildButterfly / Sunglasses: Target

I'll make this post short and sweet :) I recently got this floral piece and I love it.  I found it the day before the shoot and didn't have much time to style it, so I went with dark denim and a long sleeve red shirt.  I envisioned something else but couldn't find the other pieces I wanted.  I've always been a fan of the floral/stud combo so I added this bag, which I think is such a great statement piece.  Some people shy away from wearing winter whites & floral print, but I'm all for it!  I really want to style this cardi again so I'm hoping to come up with something else soon.  It was a cold NYC day, but I definitely had spring time on my mind.

Special thanks to Dana Prigge & Derek Warburton for this opportunity.  Can't wait to see the issue!
Have a great day loves<3

Red Accents

I wasn't really planning on doing a Valentine's Day theme look this year, but I guess this will do!

Top: Lovers & Friends (here) c/o / Skirt: Dynamite (similar)
Shoes: PoshMark (similar style) (also love) / Wristlet: olivia + joy (similar) c/o
Earrings: Daisy Gem (here) / Scarf: H&M

If you don't want to go with the typical red or pink dress, then you can incorporate those colors into your outfit in other ways.  I decided to do some red accents with this cute little clutch/wristlet and a bold lip.  I got this skirt a few months ago and wasn't really sure how I wanted to style it.  I love the black and white print.  It's very similar to a dress that I have.  When I got this cut out top from L&F, I knew it would look great with this skirt.  I was getting the cold shoulder, literally!  haha It actually was in the 50s so wearing this without a coat was not too bad.  But I decided to use my scarf as a shawl in some of the photos.  I really wanted to show off the cut outs and the earrings, so I went with a big high bun.

Aren't these earrings gorgeous? When you make a purchase on Daisy Gem using code CCA10, you will get 10% off your order and 15% of proceeds will go to Colon Caner Alliance.  It's an organization that I hold close to my heart.  When my father was first diagnosed, I ran a 5k with them to help raise awareness and money for colon cancer.  Colon Cancer Awareness month is actually in March and I hope to do something special for it.

I'll be going to some shows again this fashion week which starts on Thursday and I can't wait to share it all with you.  I realized back in September that I took way too many photos and most of them didn't even come out that great lol This time I want to focus more on the shows and only take a couple of snaps (hopefully good ones). I will definitely be posting on instagram during it all.  It snowed again yesterday and it's supposed to snow more later this week so I am really curious to see how this is all going to pan out.  I'll be staying at my friend's apartment for the whole week so I am just excited for a mini getaway.  I still have no idea what I will be wearing so hopefully I can figure that out within the next two days!

Lots of love <3

Work It Out: Fit Style To Street Style

I'm really excited about today's post because it's different than what I normally do and it's also been great motivation for me.  I have to confess that I haven't worked out in awhile.  I got a little lazy during these winter months and I really need to get back on track.   As we get older our bodies start to change so much and it's really important to take care of them now while we can.  I officially started again this weekend and I am really happy about it!  Whenever I am working out, I always feel great, both in body and in mind.  I teamed up with Athleta for a fit style meets street style challenge.

Saturday was so beautiful, so I headed out to my favorite park where I typically run during the spring and summer.  This park is very special to me because when I first lost my father, it was the only place I could actually escape to.  I used to come here all the time to run and just sit on the benches and clear my mind.  Coming here really helped put things into perspective for me.  It's where I wrote a song inspired by and dedicated to my father called Slip Into The Darkness and it's the place that somehow made me realize I had to stop feeling sorry for myself and live my life.  I know it may sound weird, but during my darkest time this place brought me back to the light.  It was the therapy that I really needed.  Running is such a great way to feel free from everything going on around us.

When it comes to fitness, I want to wear comfortable pieces.  And of course it's always a plus when they're stylish too.  I'm pretty obsessed with this zip up hoodie mostly because of the thumb holes!  I layered a long white tank underneath on top of the black sports bra.  Everything is so light weight and easy to move around in.  It felt great to put these sneakers back on.  I have a few pairs of Nikes but these are definitely my favorite ones.  And of course I can't go running without my headphones and some water!  My sister is currently training for her 5th fitness competition and I am beyond motivated by her once again.  I am in the process of begging her to train me so I can reach my goals by spring/summer.  She might be making an appearance on my blog soon :)

For this challenge, I had to take some of the pieces that I would use to workout and show how you can easily transition them into street style.  This hoodie is perfect because it really can be used during the day to do pretty much anything.  I wore it to run some errands and do a little bit of shopping over the weekend.  I layered a black workout tank underneath which by the way, has an unstinkable technology so that you can wear it more and wash it less.  I changed into dark denim and my go-to boots, let my hair down and added a baseball cap for a fun casual look.  And I brought my big black tote out to play again!

I hope that you enjoyed today's post!  Let me know if you would like to see any more fitness posts in the near future.  Have a great day loves.
